Excellence in School Nursing:
Regional School Nurse & School Nurse Administrator


Each year, the PASNAP Board of Directors has the opportunity to recognize a 
certified school nurse and a school nurse administrator from each region for 
excellence in the area of school nurse practice. The recipients are announced at 
the annual state education conference. 

If you are interested in nominating a school nurse or school nurse administrator
for the regional award, please confirm that the nominee meets the requirements 
as outlined below and submit the name and information to your region 
representative
 before February 1st.

Regional School Nurse of the Year Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must be a Certified School Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
2. Must be a member of PASNAP/NASN for the current and preceding
   two years without a lapse in membership.
3. Must be currently practicing as a school nurse and have at least five 
            years of experience in school nursing.
4. Must spend more than 50% of contracted time providing direct care.
5. Must demonstrate evidence of excellence in school nursing practice based on 
            School Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd based on School Nursing:             Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition, 2011.
6. Nominator must submit a summary of the nominee’s accomplishments, not to                    exceed 300 words, to the PASNAP region representative
7. Nominator must submit a digital photo of the nominee, at least 
            300dpi/inch, to the PASNAP region representative.


Regional School Nurse Administrator of the Year Eligibility Requirements:

1. Must be a Certified School Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
2. Must be a member of PASNAP/NASN for the current and preceding five years                 without a lapse in membership.
3. Must have at least five years experience in school health and currently practice     full time with the main responsibility of supervision, administration, and      
            coordination of nursing service and health programs.

4. Must demonstrate evidence of excellence in school nursing practice based on                 School Nursing: Scope and  Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition, 2011.
5. Nominator must submit a summary of the nominee’s accomplishments, not to                   exceed 300 words, to the 
            PASNAP region representative.

6. Nominator must submit a digital photo of the nominee, at least 300dpi/inch, to the              PASNAP  region representative.

NASN PA School Nurse & School Nurse Administrator of the Year


The PASNAP Executive Board has the privilege of choosing one of the annual region award winners, recognized at the PASNAP Annual Conference, in each area, School Nurse and School Nurse Administrator, to be submitted for consideration to the National Association of School Nurses by the PA NASN Director. If accepted by NASN, these honorees are recognized at the National Association of School Nurses Conference the following year.
